HOUSING RESOURCES

PROVIDING THE TOOLS TO HOUSING SUCCESS

The need for quality housing is a must for the further development of Alpha Sigma Phi Chapters as well as the growth of CLVEN - National House Corporation.

Beginning July 2016, any chapter/provisional chapter looking to own, rent, or lease a property for brothers to live in should contact CLVEN National House Corporation. The following resources will help you run a successful Recognized Housing Corporation. If you have questions about managing or operating a chapter facility, or a question about the resources, please email clven@alphasig.org.

WORK DAYS

AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE ALUMNI & PARENTS

Recognized House Corporations are encouraged to hold annual Work Days, typically prior to the start of the fall term. It is usually best for these to occur one or two weeks prior to the start of the term over a weekend so that undergraduates who plan to live in the house can participate alongside alumni.

The chapter and/or house corporation that is sponsoring the Work Day should identify potential projects at the end of the spring term and then develop a budget for materials. The budget should also include meals and snacks that are given to the volunteers. The date for the Work Day(s) should also be identified in the spring so that alumni have enough notice and are able to participate. Parents and family members of undergraduates should also be encouraged to attend.

Potential projects could include:

Painting

Kitchen Remodel

Caulking

Cleaning

Landscaping

Re-striping the parking lot

Replacing wear items and consumables (ex: furnace filters, detector batteries)

If you have pictures, best practices, or development materials to help organize and manage your Work Days, please share them with CLVEN National House Corporation by emailing clven@alphasig.org so we can make those resources available on this website.
